# Network & Node Management

## Network Types

CAT-BM allows a user to create nodes in Public and Test Networks.

* Friendbot
* Limited to 100 operations per ledger
* Limited to 1 smart contract per ledger
* Free RPC endpoints

* Validator nodes are run by the public
* Horizon Testnet instance
* Limited to 1000 operations per ledger
* Limited to 100 smart contracts per ledger
* No publicly available RPC

## Node Types

CAT-BM allows a user to create the following node types in both networks:

* **Watcher** — submits transactions and observes ledger changes. Does not participate in validation or history publication.
* **Validator** — all Watcher functions, plus participates in validation.
* **Full Validator** — all Validator functions, plus publishes a History Archive.
